FOX Attempts to Shoot Itself in Foot
I mean, come on. They need The Simpsons, and the people who provide the voices for the characters, badly. I can't believe that the story included these sentences: "What faces the networks — and the actors — is the question of how important are the voices, and even personalities, of the performers portraying animated characters. Are they anonymous, perhaps interchangeable?"
Did that question even need to be asked? I mean, if they had replaced a voice in the first couple of seasons, I'm sure the show would have survived. But there's no way they could have replaced all of the actors, even then, and continued. They certainly couldn't do so now.
Of course, FOX made an ass of itself in the case of Futurama, so there's precedent for this sort of idiocy.
