More from Madison

In the town's Capital Times.

I can't say I agree with this guy. Prognostication is always tricky, of course, but to say that "Condoleezza Rice will forever be remembered as the national security adviser who knew bin Laden was determined to attack inside the United States but who, by all indications, felt no great sense of urgency about that threat" is one hell of an overstatement. You see, National Security Advisers are rarely remembered for much of anything. He may be right about her chances for elected office being shot, but I doubt that she'll carry around a lot of public shame.

And he may be wrong about her electability. George W. Bush has himself proven that incompetence and a history of failure do not disqualify one from public office.
