Holy Crap

Fyodor Dostoevsky once said that "the degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons." If he was, in fact, right, I don't think that we're very civilized here in the US.

Granted, this article does not really touch on the federal and state prison systems, which, of course, are not the nicest of places, either. But damn. Well, the half-a-dozen people who read this site, and the ten thousand or so who come here thinking that they're going to see pictures of me being punched, will get some good information.
