TV viewing pleasure
Well I spent a couple hours tonight watching back episodes of the Sopranos. At first I was really impressed with this show but now I don't feel so keen on it. At any rate, the real enjoyment came later.
I am quite an avid basketball fan and I happen to align myself with the Detroit Pistons. Now those of you know me well know that I have never set foot in Michigan. But my Pistons blood comes from my father who (during my impressionable years) cheered for the Bad Boys. And it stuck.
Well tonight the Pistons absolutely smoked the Lakers. Utterly destroyed them. The Lakers scored a playoff franchise low 68 points - the Pistons, 88. It was beautiful to watch. Darko even got a rebound in the final seconds.
The NBA isn't better than ever (but don't buy the "High school players water down the talent pool" nonsense that most people spout). The problem is that most teams don't play well "as a team." Individuals play ball hog and try to put points on the board. But when a team works together like the Pistons, its beautiful to watch. Especially the defense. That's all for now. Tune in to see if the Lakers can make it back to L.A. or if Detroit will close out the last two at home.
