Brit media
Jude is certainly right about the British media breaking stories that the U.S. media wouldn't touch. I was there when the war started. During the first couple of weeks the Iraqis captured Americans and put them on TV. The Americans were outraged at the treatment of their POWs. But everytime someone from the Bush administration or military/ pentagon guys were interviewed, the British media just wanted to grill them about the "detainees" in Cuba. All they could say about the apparent hypocrisy is "I'm not here to talk about that." It was amazing.
But also one thing not to forget, the British media always takes sides. Always. Just see what happened when English football star David Beckham got busted for his affair with his PA. She gets hammered. Of course it wasn't poor Becks fault - he was trapped by the "sleazy senorita."
Thank goodness the Sun breaks it down for the UK readers. We wouldn't want them deciding for themselves who was to blame for the troubles in Beck and Posh's marriage.
Having lived in the UK - I understand their passion for football and the beautiful, goldielocked, hip-hop stylin' forward that is David Beckham. Unfortunately Beckham left Man U to play for Real Madrid - the Yankees of the Champions League. But where our stars are forced to bear a little responsibility for their indiscretions/ criminal sexual assults, the British media makes sure Beckham doesn't have to worry about a fall from grace. Whew! That was a close one.
